April Birchbox Unboxing

This is a little late, but it’s time for another Birchbox unboxing! First of all, this is the prettiest Birchbox ever. I have a stack of old patterned Birchboxes in my makeup area, and this one looks so great in the stack!

This gorgeous design was an exclusive for Rifle Paper Company. So cute!

And here is what came in the box:

Beaver Professional Hydro Nutritive Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner: These have a classic shampoo and conditioner smell, if that makes sense. I have a few other sample (and full-size) shampoos and conditioners to go through before I get to this, but hydrating hair products are right up my alley!

WEI Manuka Bee Venom Mask: I’ve heard that Bee Venom Masks are all the rage, so I’m excited to try this! There is a big warning that it’s not good for people with bee allergies, but I’ve actually never been stung by a bee. I’ve never been stung, so I’ll have to try it on my skin before I do a full mask. I’ve heard this is great for skin, so I am really excited to use this! The full size is really expensive, so hopefully I don’t love it too much…

Pop Beauty Eyeshadow Trio in Peach Parfait: I’ve gotten Pop Beauty shadows in the past and not been too happy, but this one is seriously amazing. Swatches are below. I’ve used it all this week, and I just love it! They’re so pigmented and pretty. They aren’t as easy to blend as some of my higher end shadows, but they are gorgeous.

Atelier Cologne Vanille Insense Cologne Absolue: First of all, this came with this adorable postcard, which I just love sitting on my vanity. Second of all, I love this scent! It has a strong vanilla scent, but there is also some jasmine present. It’s a very warm, full-bodied scent that I’m excited to use!

Overall, I think this was a really great Birchbox. Not only was it beautiful, there were some really fun products I’m excited to get into! What did you get in your Birchbox?

October Birchbox Unboxing

It’s Birchbox time!

How funny, this is exactly how I feel about this month's box...

How funny, this is exactly how I feel about this month’s box…

Long story short, this is probably the best Birchbox I’ve received. I had my first clue when it was heavier than usual, but seriously, amazing stuff in here.

Here’s what I got:

(Sorry about the odd lighting...)

(Sorry about the odd lighting…)

Jouer Matte Moisture Tint in Linen – Actually, this is already one of my favorite products, so I’m excited to have a smaller, travel-sized version. If you’re an oily-skinned girl looking for a tinted moisturizer/minimal coverage option that won’t make you super oily, this is a winner.

Macadamia Professional Flawless Cleansing Conditioner – I was looking for something like this just this week! I’m about done with my Davine’s conditioner and am looking for a great conditioner for co-washing. This one claims to cleanse and soften hair with a no-suds formula. I am super excited to try it – just what I need!

suki exfoliate foaming cleanser – Apparently this brand doesn’t believe in capital letters. It’s a two-in-one cleanser and exfoliator. It smells like lemons and in the jar reminds me of the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment – lots of granules. This should be an interesting one to try!

Essentiel Elements Wake Up Rosemary Shower Gel – This stuff smells like Vicks. It claims to be a luxe cleanser, and I’ll still try it – but the smell is off-putting in the bottle. Maybe it’ll diffuse and not be quite as intense when I use it?

Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Eyeshadow Palette Set – We got a nice set of Coastal Scents Eyshadows! My set is in the shade Ballerina.

These shadows are very pretty! Upon swatching, they’re not super pigmented and don’t seem to have a ton of staying power, but I think a primer would help a lot of that. The dark purple one seems a little chalky. I’ve tried Coastal Scents shadows before and not been super impressed. They’re okay, but compared to so many of my other favorite palettes, I haven’t seen anything special. I’m excited to play with these and see if my opinion changes.

Overall, such a great Birchbox. This is the first one where I actually feel like all the products were picked exactly for me, my opinions and what I look for in a product. What did you get in your October box? Anything here that you already love?

August Birchbox Unboxing

As I told you all last month, I was really disappointed with my Ipsy bags, so I switched to Birchbox for my monthly subscription. So now, it’s time for my first Birchbox Unboxing!

Here’s what came in my box:

August Birchbox

August Birchbox

Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub: I’m really excited to use this! I’m always looking for brightening face products, and this one smells like something you would use in the spa – always a plus.

Dr. Jart+ Pore Medic Pore Minish Primer: I’m always looking for a good pore minimizing product, and I’ve always been impressed with things from Dr. Jart. Could it replace the somewhat disappointing Porefessional? We shall see.

Not Soap, Radio Happiness Inducing Body Wash: What a fun concept! This is an aromatherapeutic body wash that’s supposed to make you happier. It has a lemony, happy smell, and I’m really excited to sue it.

TheBalm Stainiac: I love TheBalm products, and I love rose lip stains, so I’m super excited for this. It reminds me of Benetint, only with a spongetip applicator. It does smell a little fake, but this is a perfect fall transition product.

Hello Breathspray in Pink Grapefruit Mint: This is one of those “really Birchbox?” lifestyle products. It’s a breath spray that smells like grapefruit and mint, but it really does freshen breath. It’s supposed to be 99% natural. Not something I use in my everyday life all the time, but this looks surprisingly useful, so this could be useful.

Overall, not a bad box! What did you get in your monthly BirchBox?
